Data protection is vital to us. The notaries assign the utmost importance to the protection of your personal data.

 

 

We process your personal data only insofar as is necessary for the contact you have requested or for the provision of the notarial services you have commissioned or insofar as is required by law. Moreover, notaries are bound to special duties of professional secrecy under Section 18 Federal Code for Notaries (BNotO). This secrecy undertaking extends to all of our employees as well. A breach of the notary's duty of professional secrecy is punishable by law as a rule. Within the scope of our legal obligation, we have concluded appropriate confidentiality agreements with external service providers or processors in order to ensure your protection.

2. Collection and storage of personal data as well as type and purpose of their use

a) When visiting the website

aa)

The browser installed on your device automatically sends information to our website server when you visit our website at www.alstertor.de. This information is stored temporarily in a log file. The following information is logged without your intervention and then stored until it is erased automatically:

  • IP address of the requesting computer
  • date and time of access
  • name and URL of the retrieved file
  • website from which the access was made (referrer URL)
  • browser and possibly operating system on your computer and name of your access provider

These data are processed by us for the following purposes only:

  • to ensure the establishment of a smooth connection to the website
  • to ensure ease of use
  • to evaluate system security and stability
  • for other administrative purposes

The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 para 1 sentence 1 point f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest arises from the purposes of data processing as listed above. On no accounts do we use the collected data to draw conclusions about you personally. Moreover, these data are not associated with other data; user profiles are not created.

Cookies

We also use cookies when you visit our website.

Cookies are small files that are created automatically by your browser and are stored on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone) when you visit our website. Cookies do not harm your device, nor do they contain viruses, Trojans or other malware.

Information is placed in the cookie that is specifically related to the particular device that you use. But this does not mean that we obtain direct knowledge of your identity.

Cookies are placed firstly to make use of our service more pleasant for you. For instance, we use session cookies to detect whether you have already visited individual pages on our website. These session cookies are deleted automatically after you leave our page.

Third-party content (map material from Google Maps, Deutsche Bahn and HVV) is integrated on our website. Using the services requires the transfer of your IP address to these providers. We are unable to make any statement about the use of your data by these providers and have no influence on how these data are processed, in particular whether the data are used for additional purposes. b) When you make contact with us

If you contact us by email, telephone or in writing, the data you provide (especially your request, email address, name and telephone number) will be logged and stored by us, in particular in order to respond to your questions. The same applies if you use the contact form on our website.

Data are processed in connection with your establishment of contact with us in accordance with Art. 6 para 1 sentence 1 point e) GDPR.

c) When you commission notarial services

If you commission us with notarial services, we often require personal data from you in addition to the information in accordance with point b). The law requires the notary to collect, process and – in the discharge of official duties – transfer data to third parties (e.g. the tax offices or the registry courts) (for more information, refer to section 3).

3. Transfer of data

Your data will not be transferred to third parties if you merely visit our website.

4. Rights of the data subject

You have the following rights in relation to personal data concerning you:

  • Right to rectification or erasure.

5. Right to object

Where your personal data are processed on the basis of legitimate interests according to Art. 6 para 1 sentence 1 point f) GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR, insofar as there are grounds for doing so that arise from your particular situation.

6. Data security

We use the common SSL method (secure socket layer) in conjunction with the highest encryption level supported by your browser when you visit our website. This is usually 256-bit encryption. We revert to 128-bit v3 technology if your browser does not support 256-bit encryption. You can tell whether an individual page of our Internet presence is transferred in an encrypted form by the symbol of a closed key or padlock in the lower status bar of your browser.

We otherwise implement suitable technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or against unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are upgraded continuously in line with the state of the art.
