Arne Helms has been a notary in Hamburg since 2006 and is a partner in Notare am Alstertor.
He and his staff have extensive experience in the provision of notarial services for complex real estate transactions (in particular purchase agreements, easements, division into condominiums) and corporate matters (incorporation including shareholder agreements, participation agreements and company acquisitions). He takes pleasure in the vast diversity of notarial tasks.
Arne Helms initially enrolled in a degree programme in mathematics and Protestant theology, but then switched to jurisprudence, which he read in Göttingen, Münster, Kiel and Munich. He worked as an assistant to Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Dieter Medicus during his studies and legal traineeship in Munich, who also supervised his doctorate. He completed an LL.M. programme at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) after sitting his second state examination in 1998. Arne Helms then worked as a lawyer at Bruckhaus Westrick Heller Löber (then Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer) in Hamburg before deciding to become a trainee notary in 2001.
Arne Helms is business-fluent in English and provides notarial certification in this language as well.
